If you are battling with the itchiness, dry patches, blisters, and inflamed skin that accompany eczema and psoriasis, know that you are not alone. Around the world, there are millions of individuals who battle with these two conditions. In addition to the itchiness and skin irritation they feel, eczema and psoriasis sufferers deal with feelings of embarrassment because of the way these ailments make their skin appear.

While there is no known cure for psoriasis or eczema, many sufferers have been able to reduce the effects of these two diseases by using IPL Therapy.

What is IPL Therapy?

IPL Therapy stands for intense pulse light therapy. This is a technology that has been used by surgeons for years to address different problems that people have with their skin, including pigmentation problems, hair removal, and acne.

The therapy targets the chromophores and other structures in the skin that contribute to the skin condition that is being addressed.

How Effective is IPL Therapy?

IPL therapy works well on individuals who have mild to moderate psoriasis and eczema. However, it may not be effective for people who have flare-ups all over their body. Studies have shown that most people who receive this therapy have an improvement in their skin that can last for up to a year.

Things to Know Before Receiving IPL Treatment

IPL treatment can produce some dramatic results. However, the therapy does not work well for everyone. Laser treatment is not advised for those who are sensitive to the sun, have a history of skin cancer, and who are using medications that increase their sensitivity to the sun.

Acne Treatmentrs  Medical graded E-light

E-Light can effectively clear mild to moderate inflammatory acne and dramatically improve the overlook of your skin. E-Light Acne Treatments utilize a high intensity light source and radio frequency to penetrate through the tissue and destroy acne bacteria quickly and easily. Typically, just 6 treatments over a two month period will greatly improve the appearance of skin as well as even out skin tone and improve acne scaring

A course of 5 to 8 treatments is generally advised, treatments amount & results depend on individual person,
treatments 1 month apart

E-light technology has been used with great success to remove pigmented areas on the skin. Using this state of the art technology, charged energy light (IPL) and radio frequency (RF) are selectively emitted and absorbed by the pigmented areas, sparing the normal surrounding tissue. Combining Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) with radio frequency (RF) requires less melanin-dependent light energy to successfully treat pigmentation, being therefore safer for treating darker skin tones. Skin pigmentation in the face, neck, chest and hands can be treated safely and effectively.

The added benefit of the E-Light technology is that it also works to activate cells in the skin called fibroblasts which stimulate collagen remodeling and new collagen production. Effectively, this helps to rejuvenate the skin, improving its texture, visibly minimizing pores and reducing superficial fine lines and wrinkles to reveal a more youthfully hydrated appearance.

ascular Therapy

E-Light effectively collapses veins and broken capillaries without doing any damage to the surrounding outer layers of the skin. The reason for this is that the IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is preferentially absorbed by the red colour in the blood which flows in the veins. This light together with radio frequency converts to heat, causing shrinkage of the vein. The wavelength discharged through the pulse of the machine enables the light and radio frequency to reach the targeted veins under the skin, clearing or fading the vein significantl

ightening skin & Wrinkle reduction

The revolutionary Radio Frequency Therapy wrinkle reduction technology employs Intense Pulsed Light energy and Radio Frequency to effectively remodel the bodys collagen and regenerate damaged skin cells. Areas on the face most commonly treated by RF therapy include forehead lines, between the eyes, crows feet and laugh lines. The E-Light technology penetrates and heats the deeper layers of skin, activating fibroblast cells within the deeper layers of skin to produce new collagen and elastin and stimulate cell regeneration. The Collagen plumps up the skin to fill in fine lines and wrinkles while the Elastin helps to firm skin that has began to sag. This whole process results in skin that appears more youthful, smoother, healthier and more radiant.    A course of 5 to 8 treatments is generally advised, treatments amount & results depend on individual person.

5. You must NOT have had any Injectables or be using resurfacing        products

(Retin A, AHA, Glycolic Peels) within 14 days of treatment

6. Remove all makeup / perfumes before treatment

Please discuss any medications with your therapist prior to treatment.

a list of medication not suitable with any ipl treatment is provided at the bottom of this page.

  • No Heat treatments are permitted for 24/48 hrs (Sauna, steam           room, hot showers & bathes, swimming)
  • No make up application for 24hrs, with the exception of mineral          make up., which can be applied immediately after & at our clinic.
  • No application of perfumed products for 24/48 hrs after.
  • SPF 20 is recommended for 4 weeks after on areas exposed to         sunlight.
  • Tanning the skin is not advised between treatments. The skin             needs to be as pale as possible for optimum results. (Tanned             skin cannot be treated, as the skin will absorb too much energy)
  • Aloe Vera gel may be applied to sooth skin if necessary                       afterwards.
  • No waxing or tweezing of the hairs is permitted between                     treatments, as a root must be present in the follicle in order for           the laser to work.
  • Shaving is permitted as often as you wish between treatments.
  • Do not expose the area to sunshine, as you may increase risk of       pigmentation.
  • Call the salon if you have any concerns

The use of the following medications alone or in combination may induce hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, dermatitis, blister formation or burns. Increased sensitivity to the laser procedure may occur. A test treatment will be performed in any situation when the outcome is questionable. Please ask your physician who is prescribing your medication regarding the effects of your medication and safety of laser treatment.
